VDOT invites all I.O.W. County citizens to attend Town Hall meetings across the region to learn about the Project and the current work on a Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement.
VDOT and federal partners expect to choose a preferred alignment by the early 2015. These meetings will allow citizens to provide comments for consideration in the review process. Sessions will include a brief presentation and a Q&A session with project members. Learn More
Do you know your flood risk? Local and County officials are hosting a Coastal Flood Risk Open House to provide citizens in Isle of Wight County and Town of Smithfield with an opportunity to learn more about newly updated flood maps, known as Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs). Both Isle of Wight County and Town of Smithfield officials, as well as FEMA representatives, will be on hand to answer citizens’ questions about the updated maps, the mapping process, flood risk, and flood insurance.
