Tax Notice to County Residents

The original information provided by our third-party vendor was incorrect.  Due to production issues at their company, they did not mail our bills on November 4th.  The vendor has stated the bills were mailed on November 12, 2022.  This is entirely a third-party production issue and is not the fault of Isle of Wight County.

County of Isle of Wight 1st half 2022-2023 Real Estate/Stormwater and 2nd half 2022 Personal Property tax bills due December 5, 2022 were mailed November 12, 2022 due to a delay in processing and mailing from the third-party vendor. If you own Real Estate/Stormwater and/or Personal Property Taxes and did not receive a tax bill, please contact our office immediately to determine if you owe any tax. State law requires that real estate taxes and personal property not paid by December 5, 2022 will incur penalty and interest. Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve penalty and interest. A postmark of December 5, 2022 is required to avoid penalty and interest.

The license fee was due on the 1st installment. A license fee of eighteen dollars (18.00) for each license year, as hereinafter provided for, is hereby imposed on each and every motorcycle, motor scooter, motorbike or other motor vehicle of like design or similar thereto to which this article is applicable, and a license fee of thirty-three dollars (33.00) for each license year, as hereinafter provided for, is hereby imposed on each and every other kind and type of motor vehicle to which this article is applicable. A license fee of ten dollars (10.00) for each license year, as hereinafter provided for, is hereby imposed on the following: each National Guard license plate with “NG” and each farm truck license plate with an “F”. Vehicles with “Farm Use” license plates are not subject to a license fee.  You may refer to the Municode for further information.

IOW County pet owners should note 2022 pet licenses expire February 1, 2023. All 2023 pet license renewals are available after January 1, 2023. A current rabies vaccination certificate from the issuing veterinarian must be accompanied with the statement which will be mailed in December.
