Refuse Collection Agreement

Please be advised that, effective July 1, 2023, GFL Environmental will be taking over the curbside trash service currently provided by Bay Disposal & Recycling, Inc. for residential solid waste customers. 

Isle of Wight County provides an Exclusive Franchise Agreement for residential solid waste collection and disposal services. The intent of this Franchise is to give County residents living outside of the Towns of Smithfield and Windsor an option to privately procure curbside trash collection services at a competitive rate in lieu of using the County’s Refuse and Recycling Centers.

If you are a current customer and choose not to continue curbside collection services, the County offers eight (8) Refuse and Recycling Center locations you may use to dispose of Household Waste, along with your Household Hazardous Waste and Recycling free of charge.
