Curbside Solid Waste Pickup Transition from AVES to Bay Disposal & Recycling, Inc.

- New Years Day (January 1st)
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day (July 4th)
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day (December 25th)

All Sites Close Early @ 4:00 pm on:

- Christmas Eve Day (December 24th)
- New Year's Eve Day (December 31st)

Please be advised that, effective October 1, 2014, Bay Disposal & Recycling, Inc. will be taking over the curbside trash service currently provided by All Virginia Environmental Solutions, Inc. (AVES) for residential solid waste customers. Bay Disposal is a trash and recycling company that has been serving communities in the Hampton Roads region since 2000.

Isle of Wight County provides an Exclusive Franchise Agreement for residential solid waste collection and disposal services. The intent of this Franchise is to give County residents living outside of the Towns of Smithfield and Windsor an option to privately procure curbside trash collection services at a competitive rate in lieu of using the County’s Refuse and Recycling Centers.

Current customers will not need to do anything to continue receiving services. There are no new service agreements required and the current fees will remain the same. Customers will be receiving information directly from Bay Disposal about the upcoming transition and the services that will be offered. Click here to view the letter from Bay Disposal.

The price for curbside collection services (1-day per week) will remain at $13.61/month, plus a potential fuel surcharge fee:
