  • We are aware that it is Spring Break, and we are aware that families may be doing vacations. We are also aware that your coaches may be doing the same thing.  It will be optional if the coaches or the parents wish to practice with their teams that week.
  • REMEMBER: IT IS RECREATION SOCCER – every child gets a chance to play and have some fun
  • Practices are once a week for one hour per week.
  • Coaches will get rosters and contact parents and children about their practice times.

  1. Uniform equipment
  • Shin guards are mandatory.

  • Soccer cleats or turf shoes are allowed; no cleats with metal spikes.

First game
  • Games start on Saturday, April 27th.

Last regular season game / tournament game
  • By the latest, on June 1st
  • Each team gets a total of 6 games per season.
  • The Post-season Tournament will follow at the season’s conclusion. It will be single elimination for the following brackets only and may be played during the week:
    • 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-15

When will uniforms arrive
  • Isle of Wight Parks and Recreation will place orders for uniforms, and once they arrive at our offices, we will distribute them to coaches to hand out to the participants at practice.
  • Between April 5th – 8th
  1. Uniforms will have to be worn during all games.
  2. We will schedule a time for teams to have pictures taken once practices start, and we will ask that participants wear their uniforms when we take the photos.

When schedules will be given out

  • As soon as we have enough coaches and we have practice times set, I’d like to give the schedules to the coaches to pass out to the parents as soon as they are completed.
  • We will also place the link to the schedules on the county’s parks and recreation website.

Want to make a difference in the life of a child?

Sign up to Volunteer Coach!

basketball-soccer-ball--300x279We are always looking for Volunteer Coaches for our Youth Leagues. The rewards are endless! We are always looking for assistant coaches if you cannot be a head coach. All you will be required to do is attend one coach's certification training, conduct a practice once a week, attend a game on Saturdays, and, most importantly, HAVE FUN. Being a volunteer coach is also a great way to stay involved with your child’s activities and give back to your community; for more information on coaching a youth sports team, call the Nike Park office at 757-357-2291.
