If your pet is more than four months old, it must be vaccinated against rabies and be licensed with the County. This is required by Virginia Law and the Isle of Wight County Code.
Pet licenses are available through the Treasurer’s Office and must be renewed annually by February 1. This year tags will go on sale January 1st. Pet licenses cost $3 for a spayed/neutered pet and $10 for a non spayed/neutered pet. Please submit a copy of your rabies certificate to obtain a pet license.
A K1 Tag is$35 and covers 5-19 animals. If the tag is purchased to cover several species, the kennel owner must meet qualifying conditions. Please contact Animal Control for more information.
Additional tags can be purchased for a fee of $5.00 per 10 animals. This is the K2 tag and runs in conjunction with the K1 tag.
