The Site Plan Process is a review process for new developments, expansions of existing developments, and changes in use, in order to verify that the necessary site improvements are installed in order to meet the requirements of the Isle of Wight County Zoning Ordinance. There are two types of site plans; Simplified which is a smaller plan with less requirements generally for small changes, or expansions of the use or structure in question; and Preliminary which is a more involved plan with greater requirements generally for new uses or structures, or large expansions. The other major difference besides the submittal requirements is that Simplified Site Plans are approved administratively and Preliminary Site Plans may require approval from the Development Review Committee before they are approved. You can see the difference in the two processes in the Site Plan Process Chart.
More detailed information about each type of site plan can be found on their specific page, you will also find all the neccessary application forms for both types of site plan on their specific page.
You can also find out more information on the Site Plan Information Sheet.
