The Department of Planning and Zoning strives to provide courteous, consistent and dependable public service to each citizen.
The Department of Planning and Zoning is responsible for properly directing the commercial and residential growth in Isle of Wight County. We provide guidance, administration and coordination of the County’s efforts to properly manage growth through the Comprehensive Plan, Chesapeake Bay Act, land development regulations and community development initiatives. Our efforts help to foster positive, orderly development of the county’s land assets.
The Department of Planning and Zoning provides a comprehensive range of land use information to the public. Staff also provides support to the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission, the Board of Zoning Appeals, and other agencies and County Departments.
