The Development Review Committee (DRC) is a 5-member sub-committee of the Planning Commission. Members are appointed annually by the Board of Supervisors. DRC members will serve a term of one year from January, or the point of inception, to the following January. The DRC meetings are held at 5:30 pm on the first Tuesday of every month in the Robert C. Claud, Sr. Board Room at Isle of Wight Courthouse, Isle of Wight, Virginia. There will be a period for public comment at the meetings.

The DRC shall have approval authority over preliminary site development plans if any of the following conditions are present:

(1) the site development plan proposes a single building or group of buildings which contain a floor area that exceeds 10,000 square feet, or an expansion of an existing building or group of buildings which contain a total floor area that exceeds 10,000 square feet, including the expansion;

(2) the applicant is requesting a waiver from the Zoning Ordinance; or

(3) there are unresolved issues between the applicant, adjacent property owners, or any departmental reviewing agency.
