We have all been there—narrow lanes, sharp curves, heavy machinery in the roadway—these are just some of the issues that residents face on a daily basis while traveling the roads of Isle of Wight County.

  • What can we do about the safety of the roadways?
  • What can we do about through traffic?
  • How can we reduce congestion along key corridors and through our Towns?

The Countywide Transportation Plan (CTP) is being completed to answer these and many other questions about the future of Isle of Wight County’s transportation system.

This plan is being completed for the residents of Isle of Wight County, therefore, we want to hear from you. Tell us your plan, let us know your thoughts, inform us of a transportation problem, or simply leave us a note on the Comment Page.

The key components of the CTP process are:

  • Identify existing traffic / transportation conditions
  • Project future traffic levels and transportation issues
  • Develop recommendations for the short– and long-term
  • Ongoing public involvement throughout the planning process

The complete Scope of Work for the Countywide Transportation Plan can be found on the Documents Page.
