Mission
The Department of Animal Control is concerned with the health and welfare of the citizens of Isle of Wight County. They stand ready to assist in incidents involving animals anywhere in the county.
Responsibilities and Services
Animal Control will respond to emergency calls regarding stray animals, possible rabid animals and bite cases. Many animals are also available for adoption. The animal shelter is located at 13100 Poor House Road, just off Route 258 near the Couthouse Complex. Operating hours are Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 1pm to 4pm also . You may contact Animal Control at 365-6318.
