Electricity

Dominion Virginia Power supplies electricity to most of Isle of Wight County, including multi-phased power to most industrial sites. Portions of south and central Isle of Wight are served by Community Electric Cooperative and the City of Franklin.

Natural Gas

Suppliers include Columbia Natural Gas, Virginia Natural Gas and Commonwealth Natural Gas.

Telecommunications

Providers in Isle of Wight County are Charter Communications and Verizon.

Waste Management

Isle of Wight is a member of the Southeastern Public Service Authority which handles all solid waste generated in South Hampton Roads.

Water & Sewer

The county owns and operates 13 water and 3 sewer systems serving approximately 3,500 businesses and homes. Through a capital expenditure of $18 million, the county has recently completed the construction of water and sewer infrastructure, in all three development service districts, capable of supporting future residential, commercial and industrial growth. The Hampton Roads Sanitation District provides central sewer service to county customers. The center of the county, including the Town of Windsor, is served by a major interceptor along Route 460. Both sewer lines provide unlimited capacity for future development.
