NEWS RELEASE:  VDOT, FHWA & U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS SIGN ENVIRONMENTAL DOCUMENTS ON ROUTE 460 PROJECT IN SOUTHEASTERN VIRGINIA

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) have signed the Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) on the Route 460 Corridor Improvements Project in Southeastern Virginia.

The Draft SEIS evaluates potential social, economic and environmental impacts of five alternatives to improve transportation on the U.S. Route 460 corridor, stretching 55-miles from Suffolk to Petersburg.

The purpose of the project is to improve transportation and safety, provide a faster hurricane evacuation route, enhance movement for trucks coming from the Port of Virginia, improve connectivity for the military and create job and economic opportunities on the corridor. Learn More

MEETING: Commonwealth Transportation Board

 

The Commonwealth Transportation Board (CTP) will conduct a joint public hearing and meeting in the Hampton Roads area on September 25, 2014 to give citizens the opportunity to review and provide comments on the working draft of the Revised Fiscal Year 2015-2020 Six-Year Improvement Program (FY 15-20 SYIP). The FY 15-20 SYIP adopted by the CTB in June 2014 is being revised to reflect revised revenue estimates and anticipated implementation of the statewide prioritization process. The Revised FY 15-20 SYIP will be presented to the CTB for adoption in November 2014. Comments will also be accepted for the FY 16-21 SIP and statewide prioritization. Learn More
