In 2009, the Board of Supervisors finalized negotiations on a long-term agreement to acquire water from the City of Norfolk via the Western Tidewater Water Authority. The agreement, sometimes referred to as the “Norfolk Water Agreement” ensures that the County will have a sufficient supply of water for its customers until 2048.
At its regular meeting on April 16, 2015, the Board of Supervisors received a presentation on the background and rationale for the water agreement and the long-term benefits of having the agreement. A video of the presentation is available via this link.
